Koloma chief for NH2A conference

They don’t get much bigger in the natural hydrogen world than Koloma, the Bill Gates-backed US explorer that raised $US250 million for its projects earlier this year.

And Australians will get to hear their story with co-founder and Chief Technical Officer Tom Darrah the latest headline speaker announced for the Australian Natural Hydrogen Conference, taking place from 29th to 31st October at the beautiful Adelaide Hills.

Dr Darrah will update the conference on the latest exploration efforts in the US, which has captured the headlines since Koloma’s capital raising, also supported by big-name companies Amazon and United Airlines.

He is one of a number of international experts confirmed as keynote speakers for the conference.

Also to address attendees are Netherlands-based Max Brouwers (Chief Business Development Officer at Getech); Dr Mengli Zhang (Colorado School of Mines Industry Consortium); and Ian Munro (CEO of Helios Aragon).

Australian keynote speakers include Lionel Esteban (Principal Petrophysicist at CSIRO); Emaleena Baker (Strategy Advisor at Australian Gas Infrastructure Group); and Frank Glass (Chief Exploration Advisor at Gold Hydrogen).

Tom Darrah

Chief Technical Officer at Koloma, US-based natural hydrogen exploration company

In this role, Dr Darrah oversees exploration efforts, as well as the development of intellectual property and technology.

Before joining Koloma, Dr Darrah was a Full Professor of Earth Sciences at Ohio State University. An internationally recognized scholar, he has significantly contributed to his field through research funded by the National Science Foundation, the US Department of Defense, the US Department of Energy, the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, NASA, and others.

Dr Darrah has held several leadership positions, including Vice President and President of the Geologic Society of America's Division for Geology and Health, and Executive Director of the Global Water Institute.

He holds a Ph.D. in Geology from the University of Rochester and has 20 years’ of experience specializing in gas geochemistry and subsurface geoscience.
