What is Natural Hydrogen?

Natural hydrogen is hydrogen generated by natural processes and occurring freely in the subsurface within the pore space in the rocks.

Most hydrogen currently used in industry is manufactured, either from methane or from water. This manufacturing process requires lots of energy, and/or water.

Natural hydrogen is occurring naturally in the subsurface and is not manufactured. Extracting it from the subsurface requires little energy and no water.
